Interesting facts about me

image I love music from the 50s-80s and some since then; chatting with internet buddies, watching movies, collecting CDs, cooking sometimes, animals, walks, classic tv shows, reading when I can concentrate, nostalgia, sarcasm, humor, and general nerdery. I recently turned 31. I'm basically a quiet person, but, I like to talk when I'm with the right people or on the right topic. :)

Thanks for adding me to your friends! I like your page. I was reading your favorite TV shows and movies and you could be my daughter! She loves almost exactly the same things as well as music from the 60s! She often says she was born in the wrong decade!

    Love, Mare

Hi, thanks for the comment! That's really cool that your daughter and I have many of the same tastes. I've sometimes felt like I was born in the wrong decade too, but I loved spending my childhood in the 80s. :) I wish music, movies, and tv in general could be as fun today as they were before the 90s.

Thanks for stopping by again and writing! I love to reply back. Yes, James did play that character very well. I don't know why, but he plays all his 'evil' characters well. He was in a movie a long, long time ago called "New Kids" starring Lori Laughlin and someone else. It was a horror movie. My fear of ferris wheels stemmed from watching that movie once I found out they could 'lock' the seats and cause people to topple out of the seats. Not a nice thing at all. I 'refuse' to ride such a ride anymore because of it. I'm very afraid of heights. LOL!

Thanks again for stopping by. *HUGS*

I think there are more shy people in this world than we think :) Nothing wrong with that at all.

    Love always,

    Cheri :)

I LOVED those dramatic scenes between Duckie and Andie. I love drama as much as comedy. But Jon and Molly had a unique chemistry.

I will say though I hated James Spader's character in that movie. I just wanted to 'smack' him upside the head and scream, "leave them alone!" Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge James Spader fan, but ooohhhhh his evil character in that movie was terrible!

I'm still out on the Andrew McCarthy Blaine character. Sometimes he was nice, but others oooohhhhh he needed to be 'smacked' as well. LOL!

Duckie though deserved Andie! Not Blaine!

I was just stopping by your profile again. I'm very sensitive too, and shy, but I'm trying not to be as much. But I like who I am, so, I don't want to change too much :).

About James Spader--I hate his character too, but I love the way he plays it! And he had great hair, lol.

You're welcome for stopping by. What is this song "London Boys" by the Go-Go's? I've never heard that one. Yes, I, too, felt Duckie should have been with Andie! My favorite scene was when he came into the record shop and danced around the room lip-synching to that song and then he finds out Andie is going out with Blaine. Then Andie and Blaine show up at the dance club where Duckie is there with Annie Potts and he gives her the great big kiss that knocks her socks off. Remember that? Then he apologizes after Andie and Blaine leave after Duckie calls some obscenities. LOL. Jealous males they were of each other. Weren't they?

"London Boys" was a song they used to perform live, but I don't think they recorded a studio version. There is a live version on the CD called Return to the Valley of the Go-Go's. That's the one I have. I remember those scenes in Pretty in Pink. Duckie gets very emotional when he finds out she is going out with Blaine!

I love your piccie of Andrew and Molly! I loved that movie Pretty in Pink. I own it actually, got it at the Salvation Army or a garage sale (wonderful things you can acquire at the most unique places) :) Duckie was always my favorite in Pretty in Pink. Oooh and I just loved Annie Potts character when she was in that unique dress with the beehive hairdo. You remember that one?

I see you like the Go-Gos too. Which is your favorite Go-Go song? I love the one "We've got the Beat" and "Vacation." I grew up dancing to the Go-Go's music when I used to visit my cousin at her house. The basement was our dance floor! I still remember that today. Ahhh those were the days!

Have a very beautiful weekend my friend. Thank you for letting me take my trip down memory lane with you regarding your profile page. :) *HUGS* to you my friend!

    Love always,

    Cheri :)

    Hello,

I'm glad my profile was able to bring back some fond memories for you! Pretty in Pink is one of my favorite movies. I always liked Duckie too. Sometimes I thought he should have ended up with Andie. :)

My favorite Go-Go's songs are "We Got the Beat", "Vacation", "London Boys", "Head Over Heels", and a bunch of others. They are one of my favorite bands. I used to have "Vacation" on an LP and I remember playing it on my record player when I was about 8 years old.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving positive comments about my profile!! I always like to hear what other people think of the music and videos I like.

Have a great day and an awesome rest of the week, too. :o)
